"Miles for SMILES" 5K Walk-Run

Miles for SMILES had another successful year! An autumn event, held at the SMILES facility, showcased the rural atmosphere and the fall colors. New this year was the Halloween costume contest which included the horses!

The presence of the therapy herd, attentive and curious at the participants moving through their hayfields, reminded the athletes of the cause that would benefit. The SMILES event offered a fun fall finish line inside the arena with plenty of pumpkins, cornstalks and stawbales!

A smooth surface adaptive course was also made available for anyone with special needs, or any participants with joggers or strollers.

Runners and walkers alike were greeted at the end of the course with live music by Tim Gresl, as well as hot apple cider and a generous ‘prize giving’.
