Four PATH Instructors join SMILES Newly Certified Instructors
SMILES is pleased to welcome four newly certified PATH International Registered Instructors to the Therapeutic Riding Program
The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) recently held a four day workshop and certification for Registered Instructors at the SMILES facility in Darien, WI. Instructor candidates from WI, NE, and WA attended the event where they completed the workshop, riding test, and teaching test components of the certification process. Four of the ten participants were candidates from the SMILES program, which holds Premier Center Accreditation with PATH International.
SMILES, (Special Methods in Learning Equine Skills) has seen a significant increase in demand for their programming and classes, having added over 50 new clients to their participant list in 2013. Gay Stran, Executive Director of the organization, welcomes the newly certified instructors. “SMILES is fortunate to have these women joining us in the arena, and our clients are fortunate to have them as instructors. They are skilled and dedicated professionals who will assist our clients with special needs to improve their lives and living skills through equine assisted activities and therapies.”
